In Abitibi-Témiscamingue, like across Quebec and Canada, some news can change a family's life in an instant. Every year, children are diagnosed with cancer, children from our communities, with dreams, energy, and childhoods suddenly put on hold.
This is for them that Hyundai Hope on Wheels exists.
This initiative brings Hyundai dealers across the country together around one shared mission: to support childhood cancer research, improve care for young patients, and stand beside families going through some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
In Canada, nearly 1,000 children are diagnosed with cancer every year. Through Hyundai Hope on Wheels, more than $4 million has already been invested in pediatric hospitals and research centres, including CHU Sainte-Justine in Quebec, a key pillar of care for families in our province.
Every contribution helps make a real difference by:
One of the most meaningful moments of this initiative is the handprint ceremony. Children affected by cancer place their handprints on a Hyundai vehicle, a simple gesture filled with emotion, strength, and hope. These vehicles then travel across the country as powerful symbols of courage and solidarity.
Here in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, we are proud to be part of this movement. Because beyond vehicles, what we are truly helping move forward is hope.
And behind every Hyundai sold, there is a meaningful contribution, one that helps support a child, uplift a family, and make a real difference close to home.
